Rook & Ink is an independent intelligence and systems practice founded by Aaron Walbrecher.
I build tools, workflows, and strategic systems for people doing complex work. My background spans healthcare systems, data operations, AI-assisted production, and creative technology.
Being a nurse shapes how I see complexity: the stakes of unclear systems, the cost of bad tools under pressure, and the need for evidence you can trust. That perspective is why Rook & Ink exists, and it informs how I design. It is a lens on the work, not a service this practice sells.
That mix gives Rook & Ink its shape: practical, human, evidence-aware, and a little unconventional.
I do not believe AI is a shortcut to thinking. I use it as a partner in thinking.
Who this is for
Rook & Ink exists for people caught between complexity and execution: the small team with too many moving parts, the creator with a big idea, the program that needs clean reporting, and the business owner trying to make sense of new tools.
It is not a generic AI agency, a content mill, a slide-deck strategy firm, or a clinical education shop. It is a craft-first practice that refuses black-box theater and builds tools that preserve agency.
